For registrars and records staff

Record requests are a fragmented, non-standardized mess. That shouldn't matter for registrars just trying to do their job.

The problem

Every school struggles with outdated registrar contact lists, manual faxes and lost emails. For the person on the receiving end, the visible cost is requests that arrive at the wrong desk, or arrive in a form that has to be re-keyed before anyone can act on them.

What RecReq does today

RecReq is a free directory of where each school's records and transcript requests should go —598 schools, with contacts listed in the order to try them. There is no account to create. It holds records contacts only, not counselors, teachers or front-office staff, so a request is less likely to be sent to the wrong desk.

If your school's listing is wrong, every school page has a correction link, and /submit explains what happens to a submission. A person reads every one before anything changes.

Auto Pilot

Auto Pilot is in pilot. It's being designed to generate requests, send them by email or fax, and handle follow-ups, with a secure upload page so records can come back without fax or email attachments. It is not a live service yet.
